How does a prepper grow? How does a survivalist get to a point where their skills have increased enough to really get the job done with less? Well, you can never really find out of you are not always trying new things.
One thing every prepper owes themselves is to rough a night in the woods with a minimal kit. This is like ripping off an old scab! It will become painfully obvious where you need to improve. This will not take a lot of time. If you do not have a handle on starting fire, sanitizing water or even the basics of shelter making, you are going to suffer in the woods at night.
That suffering might come from something as severe as hypothermia or something as benign as mosquitos.
So rarely do we put our skills to the test and its such an important part of doing this thing. We need to be honest with ourselves about where we sit in the prepping
